Spring 26 Events

To wrap up the Spring 2026 semester, we are hosting a series of special events throughout April. These include talks, a collaborative problem-solving session, and a final contest with prizes. All events take place on Fridays from 5pm to 7pm in Friend Center Room 006, and are open to everyone – no experience or commitment required.

Schedule

April 3 – Talk + Problem Solving

“Mastering Algorithmic Thinking – Highlights of Competitive Programming”

A talk on how to approach algorithmic questions, progressing from easier to harder examples drawn from elegant problems in competitive programming history. Followed by a short problem-solving session.

April 10 – Problem Solving Session

A 2-hour collaborative problem-solving session. Work through a curated set of problems with other students – great for all experience levels.

April 17 – Talk

“How AI Beat the ICPC/IOI/IMO – Inference Scaling LLMs”

A talk exploring how large language models with inference-time scaling have achieved top results in major programming and math competitions.

April 24 – End of Semester Contest

Special Contest – Prizes for the top students!

Compete individually in a timed contest to close out the semester. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers.
